It’s that time of year again! It’s been almost 10 months since I’ve updated my favorite film simulation settings page, but in the last few months I’ve been using slightly different settings so I figured a new update is in order. I did some very minor tweaks to my color settings, but also added a specific recipe for X-trans I sensors and some comments on my post-processing workflow (yes, I still do P.P. even though I shoot mostly in jpg)! Love your color simulation!
While the fastetes way to go is SOOC for sure I prefer processing RAW to avoid as much as possible banding/posterization problems. I use RFC EX 3.0 (yep, snobbed out there) with almost no tweaks to export the pics in TIFF (16 bit) then I use GIMP (I use G’MIC plugin with its vast film simulations as a starting point).

Thanks Walker, I appreciate it! I’m too lazy to worry about those issues, but I still process raws once in a while just for fun, to experiment different looks! 🙂

I was wandering If you would like to create together a Capture One style to process certain look with me or other photographers as a way to get the JPEG look from the RAW but with the editions you mentioned as post processing

Could you give a recipie of setting a B&W simulation on my old X-Pro1, which don’t have a ACROS film in it?

Thank you! Unfortunately I no longer have a x-pro1 so I can’t help you on that, but what I did when I had it was to always shoot in color, and when I wanted B&W I would convert it in Capture One using the raf files.
